OK so I got my entry in localdir setup.
* SGNUS:(gnus). An NNTP-based newsreader for XEmacs.
Info-directory-list is
Info-directory-list's value is ("/usr/local/lib/xemacs-19.14/info/" "/usr/local/info")
When I select my node which is defined in /usr/local/info/localdir
it _still_ insists on loading the gnus from the xemacs info directory.
Why?
Surely I don't have to rename gnus's info files that would suck
They pay homage to a king who's dreams are buried in their minds.

Yup.

Because the xemacs info directory is in the info search path
before the local info directory. Try reversing the Info-directory-list.
