That's a pretty brittle facility you're using.
If this GNOME facility is tripped that easily, file a bug report or
give up on it. The X-From-Line is modified in-place from the UNIX
From_ header ("From <space>") which always heads a mail message in
sendmail- or procmail-delivered mail messages.
