Ok,

I select my inbox. gnus sez

How many articles from nnml:inbox (default 202):

I press ENTER. Yet, if I enter the group, there is only one mail (read). And

	swa@mind:~> ls -la Mail/inbox/
	total 25
	drwx------ 2 swa learning 10240 Nov 21 13:52 .
	drwx------ 116 swa learning 3072 Nov 21 13:49 ..
	-rw------- 1 swa learning 214 Nov 21 13:48 .overview
	-rw------- 1 swa learning 10654 Sep 24 17:34 36

Odd, isn't it?

Stefan.

This has happened to me in the past. I managed to fix it by
rebuilding the overview file (M-x nnml-generate-nov-databases), which
I think can be done for a single group in some recent version
otherwise be prepared to sit and wait a while. I was never able to
repeat it, so I didn't report it.

Well, the odd thing is that when trying to M-x nnml-generate-nov-databases,
gnus stops half way down the road with

	Args out of range: #<buffer " *nntpd*">, 1, 0

Check ~/Mail/active for inbox, and check inbox' limits.
Compare against the articles currently in nnml:inbox.

If you have moved articles out of inbox, or articles from inbox have
expired in the current session with Gnus, Gnus seems to maintain an
erroneous idea that the widest range of articles recently seen remains
correct.

If you quit Gnus and then restart, the correct number (`1') will show.

Here is the solution: in one folder I had a mail that looked like this:

-snip-
Return-Path: swa@MIND.LEARNING.CS.CMU.EDU
Return-Path: swa@MIND.LEARNING.CS.CMU.EDU

Subject: dip
-snip-

Note, that the mail has a header but no body -- gnus choked.

I just noticed the same problem here. The attached patch fixed it.

Kim-Minh.
