Threads are sorted before they are gathered, so I don't quite see how
this happens...  unless you have taken `gnus-article-sort-by-number'
out of `gnus-article-sort-functions'.

Ok; I've added this to the todo list.  I'll go for a variable to
toggle the behavior.
