I have just been given the go-ahead to install the new Gnus in Emacs
19.29.90, which means that it will be included in Emacs 19.30.

This means that there will probably be no more Gnus 5.0 releases from me
-- I'll only be working to make sure Gnus 5.1 works with Emacs 19.30.

Work on September Gnus will continue as normal.

And XEmacs, I would hope. The plans for 19.14 are still there, I hope?
Especially now that Gnus will be in the "real" Emacs distribution?

Yes, nothing has changed with regards to XEmacs. It's only that the
Emacs Experience is more hands-on than the XEmacs one -- I mean, I
actually installed it myself on the FSF machines. (Spooky!)

But the Gnus 5.1 in 19.30 will probably diverge somewhat from the one
in XEmacs. (Mostly trivial incompatibility stuff.) For instance,
I'll be removing the gnus-ems.el file from the 19.30 distribution, I
think.
