Well, this all depends a bit on what your `gnus-read-active-file' and `gnus-check-new-newsgroups' variables are. If `gnus-read-active-file' is t, then you can just plonk your virtual servers into `gnus-seconary-select-methods' and Gnus will subscribe you (or not) to all new groups from these servers.
