How can I get a listing of all mail groups that are unsubscribed or
not displayed (due to having 0 unread messages, and no messages marked)?

The server buffer will let you browse by backend type, however the
listing with nnml could be made more useful. Instead of a K on every
line it would be nice to see the subscription level, and the Topic (if
any).

Doesn't "L" does this for you for every group ?

Yup. 17,000 of which I could care less about. Mail is important,
newsgroups of remote regional hierarchies generally are not.

I've now added this to the Red Gnus todo list.
