Yes, that would be useful.  I've now added this to the Red Gnus todo
list.  

Hmn.  Here's an example group buffer:

           0: gnu.emacs.gnus
           0: no.general
*          0: gnus-bug
           4: mail.ding
           0: no.alt.diskusjoner
           0: no.alt.katter

Now, I want to sort the "no" groups.  I process-mark them and press
the sort key.  What happens?  Do the all get inserted after the first
"no" group?  

           0: gnu.emacs.gnus
           0: no.alt.diskusjoner
           0: no.alt.katter
           0: no.general
*          0: gnus-bug
           4: mail.ding

Do they keep their "slots"?

           0: gnu.emacs.gnus
           0: no.alt.diskusjoner
*          0: gnus-bug
           4: mail.ding
           0: no.alt.katter
           0: no.general

Or what?
