	Did somebody manage to get pgnus-0.69 ? I only seem to be able to
retreive 0.66 everywhere I looked.

wget http://www.gnus.org/pgnus.tar.gz gives me a distribution prefixed with
pgnus-0.66/. It can't find any pgnus.tar.gz on quimby. :-/

Ah, then maybe Lars has a problem with his links. I only patched up my
system

<URL:ftp://quimby.gnus.org/pub/gnus/ding-patches/pgnus-0.68-0.69.diff.gz>.

On quimby, you have to use

<URL:ftp://quimby.gnus.org/pub/gnus/pgnus.tar.gz>

But it's slow as hell for me, I've just checked.

Hth, norbert.

	All right. I've found it but it's indeed rather slow.

It is? Hm. I get quite nice speeds from Quimby and to, well,
anywhere. Does ping or traceroute say anything interesting?

I seem to have forgotten all my passwords for accounts in the big,

ifi (which is on uninett) to Quimby (which is on eunet)...

	From ifi to tut.fi (uninett -> nodunet -> funet): 200 kB/s
	From quimby to tut.fi (eunet -> nordunet -> funet): 59 kB/s

	Eunet seems to have slow connections from Norway to the big
	wide world.

France<->Norway goes through ... *New Jersey*?!?

Wrong side of the pond, boys, wrong side of the pond...

But of course. There are stranger things than that -- for example, my
connection to Europe is much slower than my connection to the US.
This means that if I want to download stuff from Europe at a
reasonable speed, I have to use a proxy in the *US*.

They don't have the fattest lines around... but NORDUNET always used
to have pretty fat lines compared to the rest of the net. Dunno if
that's still the case today.

Traffic between ifi.uio.no and tut.fi travels on NORDUNET lines.
