Subject: "Can't select group" for nnml group

Quassia Gnus v0.34; nntp 5.0; nnml 1.0; nnmh 1.0; nndraft 1.0
GNU Emacs 19.34.1 (sparc-sun-solaris2.4, X toolkit) of Tue Sep 10 1996 on norne
200 Norway.EU.net InterNetNews NNRP server INN 1.7.2 08-Dec-1997 ready (posting ok).
Someone pulled the plug on my SPARCstation last Friday, with the
result that .newsrc-dribble was trashed. When I started up Gnus
without reading the .newsrc backup file, it wouldn't let me open the
mail groups.
I was at this point, using qgnus 0.29
So I deleted
~/Mail/active
and did a
M-x nnml-generate-nov-databases RET
After doing this, and doing a "g" in "*Group*", things seemed to work
fine. Until today when I tried to open the group
nnml:mail.2x
That's when I got the "Can't select group" message. When I looked at
~/Mail, I found the following directories
~/Mail/mail.2x/ (had an overview file and lots of articles)
~/Mail/mail/2x/ (empty, exept for the following directory )
~/Mail/mail/2x/cvs/ (which had an .overview file and some articles)
I copied the .overview and articles from mail.2x/ into mail/2x/, and
renamed mail.2x/ to old.mail.2x/
I still got the same message. I removed the line
mail.2x 1785 1786 y
from
~/Mail/active
and got a group that couldn't be opened. I put this line back in, and
upgraded to qgnus 0.34, and I was still unable to select the group.
This is highly annoying, as there was an article in this group that I
need.
Here's the entry for the group in my ~/.newsrc.eld
