These look fishy:

While compiling toplevel forms in file /tmp/gnus-5.4.32/lisp/md5.el:
!! End of file during parsing
While compiling toplevel forms in file /tmp/gnus-5.4.32/lisp/pop3.el:
!! End of file during parsing

I get this bytecompiling with XEmacs 19.14, 20.1 *and* Emacs 19.34.
Something looks very fishy.

In addition, with md5.el I see:
** subr md5 being redefined as a function

Those files seem to have acquired '^M's at the end of each line.

DOS'isms. ick.

Funny, both work fine on my machine. Might be MS-DOSly newline screwups,
though. I'll send new copies off to Lars post haste.

md5.el does not need to be used with XEmacs since XEmacs already has it
defined as a built-in function.

Yeah, well, I do a majority of my Lisp hacking on a Windows 95 machine. In
the future I will try to remember to flip files before sending them off to
Lars.
