After batch scoring gnus sometimes asks something like

How many articles from foo.bar (10 scored, 11 total):

I guess this means my server has got new articles after batch scoring.

Can I tell gnus: "Shut up and just give me all the articles"?

LMI> `11 RET'.

But it would be nice with an option to make this default. I get the
prompt when I leave a group without reading all the articles, and
later reenter it. I think it shouldn't prompt if the number of new
(unscored) articles are less than, say, 50.

I've not added a new variable here, but it not doesn't prompt unless
there are 20 more unscored articles.
