Maybe make another file containing split methods. Why not implement splitting for the other backends as well? Then put split methods in the score files? And merge splitting and scoring interfaces? =20 Splitting of nntp groups would make it possible to e.g. have subgroups to high-volume groups only containing particular threads, threads with contributions from particular authors (like yourself), announcements, high scores, etc. Wouldn't this make it faster to enter (sorting much fewer threads) high volume groups for just looking at interesting stuff, while retaining the possibility to look at the other threads some other time (which you don't have if you score low enough to kill). =20 Or would this be incredibly slow? --=20 Mats L=F6fdahl Internet: Mats@Astro.su.se Stockholm Observatory MLofdahl@Solar.Stanford.edu S-133 36 Saltsj=F6baden Voice: +46 - 8 16 44 75 Sweden Fax: +46 - 8 16 42 28 From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 X-Msuck: nntp://news.gmane.io/gmane.emacs.gnus.general/6753 Path: main.gmane.org!not-for-mail From: Andy Eskilsson Newsgroups: gmane.emacs.gnus.general Subject: Re: Automatic generation of split methods Date: 18 Jun 1996 13:56:48 +0200 Sender: flognat@claymore.fukt.hk-r.se Message-ID: References: Reply-To: flognat@fukt.hk-r.se NNTP-Posting-Host: coloc-standby.netfonds.no Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Trace: main.gmane.org 1035147163 4619 80.91.224.250 (20 Oct 2002 20:52:43 GMT) X-Complaints-To: usenet@main.gmane.org NNTP-Posting-Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2002 20:52:43 +0000 (UTC) Cc: Benny Amorsen , ding@ifi.uio.no Return-Path: ding-request@ifi.uio.no Original-Received: from ifi.uio.no (ifi.uio.no [129.240.64.2]) by deanna.miranova.com (8.7.5/8.6.9) with SMTP id FAA12399 for ; Tue, 18 Jun 1996 05:32:00 -0700 Original-Received: from claymore.fukt.hk-r.se (claymore.fukt.hk-r.se [194.47.151.20]) by ifi.uio.no with ESMTP (8.6.11/ifi2.4) id for ; Tue, 18 Jun 1996 13:57:42 +0200 Original-Received: (from flognat@localhost) by claymore.fukt.hk-r.se (8.6.12/8.6.12) id NAA12811; Tue, 18 Jun 1996 13:56:50 +0200 Original-To: Mats.Lofdahl@astro.su.se (Mats G.
