Finally I've manged to convinced our isp news admin to uncomment the
famous xref line so I figured i can use xref header scoring. However
I encounter with this oddity. my rec.arts.sf.written.SCORE look like
this:

(("xref"
  ("alt.fan.heinlein" -6000 nil s))
 ("subject"
  .....
  ("Heinlein" 5000 nil s)
  .....
 )
 (mark-and-expunge -10))

At the summary I saw an article that I thought was supposed to be
low scored. I did Vt and got this line:

("Heinlein" 5000 nil s)  ->  rec.arts.sf.written.SCORE

But after I read the article I got this from Vt:

("alt.fan.heinlein" -6000 nil s)  ->  rec.arts.sf.written.SCORE
("Heinlein" 5000 nil s)  ->  rec.arts.sf.written.SCORE

telneting directly to the server give me this information:

XOVER 20065
224 data follows

.

What am I missing?

(This is with 5.2.1 & 19.30 not the copy I'm using to send this).

This is typical behavior when the Xref header isn't included in the
NOV files.

And this was the article that you got those results on? In that case,
I can't explain the behavior. However, if it was an older article,
then it probably just means that the article arrived before the
"Xref:full" line was added to the overview.fmt file. (Doing so
just changes things for articles that arrive after the change.)
