Would this involve saving just the start and end point of each consistant block (i.e. the first/last and each end point of a "gap"). This might reduce the .newsrc.eld file to a managable size. I got shivers the first time I read that you'd be saving Message-ID's. Also would this be an explicit user-specified filter, i.e. batch command or one like gnus-compile, instead of having this on by default? Oh and I apologize for the double postings and screwed up From_ lines. I've been fighting with TM lately and losing badly in some cases. I think the main problem has been that if you attempt to send an article, and there is a fatal error, you're dumped back into the news-reply buffer, which if you attempt to repeat to send, it'll muff up the headers. I'll try to duplicate the error on some local tests groups. d. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.4, an Emacs/PGP interface iQCVAwUBMTzOh4X26urqpgG1AQFAqwP8C5cKiQlwMmQMZnqdCxrc6McJwBGucXoq rdQN+BsBtespjY/JnQHnF4MG13JqUgunrckb7jVgnwV1VxmOBPzIQvfQkpoldTRz dCAbP3H1m7CUeRTwkqRYYyCr6OwF1+SR1+bTQKKS9l0PrqYe7QPGA0yNcjNcbM8o /Is1Z79ep2E= =jFK+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- ``Yes, I think "toast" is an appropriate description.'' ~ jaya ballard, task mage
