That's right.  Internally the article is marked as expirable, but I
see no sign of this until I quit the summary buffer and reenter.  
Even in auto-expire groups this happens, so it is very disconcerting.
The same sort of thing happens if I delete an article:  no G appears,
but if I try to select it I am (rightly) unable to.  Is this happening
to anyone else?
