Does it really need to? This is assuming that total MH/nmh user compatability is necessary for nnmh before it can use sequences. I think one "supported" location for the public and private sequences files will suffice for nnmh. I.e, if Gnus users want nnmh to update the sequences file, they have to use the default names and locations for them (.mh_sequences, etc). Of course, I wouldn't complain if nnmh was made to handle sequences in the complex fashion that nmh/MH does, but at the same time, I don't think the interest to add basic sequences functionality to nnmh should be deterred.
