I think emacs has been compiled for VMS systems, but does anyone use (any
flavor) Gnus on said operating system?

I am moving to a real job soon and they use a VMS machine for their main
operations. I may end up on a Win32 box which will at least give me the
opportunity to use a version of emacs that I know works with Gnus.

Unfortunately, this may mean that I am no longer in on development of Gnus.
We shall see.

I received reports of Gnus on VMS users for the FAQ a year ago,
they're out there somewhere.

Ugh.

What are the last two letters of "doesn't" and "can't"?
Coincidence? I think not.

Gnus works just peachy on Win32, excepting SOUP stuff (due to
limitations in the shell API) and maybe a couple of things I have not
bothered with. No reason why that should stop you from doing any
development work. To the contrary, it is incentive to implement
workarounds or otherwise fix problems or hassles you find in dealing
with the Win32 environment (and boy, there are plenty :).
