I mentioned this in a thread a day ago, but think it might have got
missed.
My NoGnus startup causes me machine to almost freeze for about a minute
with my hard drive going nuts - total CPU usage and massive HD activity.
I turned up gnus verbostiy and see this:-

it goes for a few thousand lines..
It seems it spam splitting even read emails.
