According Timo Siriainen (the main author of dovecot), it has been supported since version 1.1: http://search.gmane.org/?query=uidplus&group=gmane.mail.imap.dovecot My debian stable ("lenny") dovecot is 1.0.15-2.3 (which doesn't support UIDPLUS). The current debian testing dovecot has upstream version 1.2.13. The Ubuntu 10.04 "lucid lynx" dovecot has upstream version 1.2.9.
