Thank you for letting me know about that. If you are on a linux or unix machine, you can use fetchmail to deliver email locally, and then read it in Gnus as local email. Fetchmail can be set up to keep email on a POP3 server. If you can, I suggest you get IMAP access to your account, because nnimap is working pretty well now.
