Problems with news.eclipse.org

news.eclipse.org has been down since Friday.

On my git gnusen at home, on starting up, I get the message
 Unable to open server nntp+news.eclipse.org, go offline? (y or n)

This message comes early in the startup, and there is very little delay
after that until the *Group* buffer comes up.

Today I pulled gnus from git on RHEL4 with emacs 22.3 at work, using the
commands:
 make clean
 git pull
 ./configure
 make

This gnus behaves differently:
 - It uses a loooong time on startup
 - It pops up the message
    Unable to open server nntp+news.eclipse.org, go offline? (y or n)
 - After pressing `y' on this, a lot of messages flicker past in the
   minibuffer, until it eventually displays
    Opening nntp server on news.eclipse.org...failed
   and then hangs for a loooong time, until it eventually opens the
   *Group* buffer
 - Every time I press `g' in the *Group* buffer it prints out
   and then hangs for a loooong time without anything happening (we're
    Opening nntp server on news.eclipse.org...failed
   talking more than 5 minutes...) and then the *Group* buffer displays
   new unread numbers
 - In the *Server* buffer news.eclipse.org shows up as both Denied and
   agentized: 
     {nntp:news.eclipse.org} (denied) (agent)

(dough.gmane.org is the only non-agentized nntp server I've got.  I use
it for spam report approval.  It us distinguished it from news.gmane.org
so that it can be authenticated)
