I recently subscribed to a mailing list on eGroups and elected to receive notices in digested form. The individual messages are separated by double lines of underscores, which seems like a good convention, unlikely to be found in ordinary emails. Since digest formats seem mostly the same except for the choice of message separator, perhaps there should be some sort of digest template one could use to make that one-item change. -- Ted Stern Analysis/Porting/Tuning, Engineering Applications Cray Inc. http://www.cray.com 411 First Avenue South, Suite 600 Direct 206-701-2182, Main 206-701-2000 Seattle, WA 98104-2860 FAX 206-701-2500 --=-=-= Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Disposition: inline X-From-Line: sentto-1215378-210-969872511-stern=cray.com@returns.onelist.com Mon Sep 25 02:02:02 2000 Received: from timbuk.mw.cray.com (timbuk-fddi.cray.com [128.162.8.102]) by gershwin.tera.com (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id CAA22201 for ; Mon, 25 Sep 2000 02:02:01 -0700 (PDT) Received: from relayb.cray.com (root@relayb.mw.cray.com [128.162.2.87]) by timbuk.mw.cray.com (8.8.8/CRI-gate-news-1.3) with ESMTP id EAA18297 for ; Mon, 25 Sep 2000 04:02:00 -0500 (CDT) Received: from mail.cray.com (mail.mw.cray.com [128.162.1.10]) by relayb.cray.com (8.11.0/8.10.1) with SMTP id e8P8xKi18792 for ; Mon, 25 Sep 2000 03:59:21 -0500 Received: from f19.egroups.com (f19.egroups.com [208.50.99.238]) by mail.cray.com id chkhMLK for env-from [MX: ok]; Mon Sep 25 04:00:48 2000 X-eGroups-Return: sentto-1215378-210-969872511-stern=cray.com@returns.onelist.com Received: from [10.1.10.143] by f19.egroups.com with NNFMP; 25 Sep 2000 09:01:51 -0000 Message-ID: <969872511.1793@egroups.com> Mailing-List: list vim@egroups.com; contact vim-owner@egroups.com Delivered-To: mailing list vim@egroups.com Precedence: bulk List-Unsubscribe: Date: 25 Sep 2000 09:01:51 -0000 From: vim@egroups.com Reply-To: vim@vim.org To: vim@egroups.com Subject: [vim] Digest Number 210 Status: O X-Status: X-Keywords: X-UID: 48 Xref: orff.sea.tera.com lists.gnus:7492 Lines: 97 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii -------------------------- eGroups Sponsor -------------------------~-~> Get news. But it needs to skip blank lines or comment lines (beginning with '#' character) Example input: ================= # comment 5 A 12 B 3 C # comment 4 D 1 E ================= Example output: ================= #comment 5 A 6 B 7 C #comment 8 D 9 E ================= Can anyone recommend a macro that can do this?
