URL beginning with cid: refers to other part of the message. Each part may have a Content-ID entry (see RFC2045, page 26, point 7.) CID are more widely used in multipart/related messages (see RFC 2112). The VCard specification use it too, for example to transmit an image in another part of the message rather than in the vcard itself. (RFC 2425, page 17, point 7 & page 20 point 8.4) Of course, I don't expect Gnus to handle cid's url, but the Content-ID headers. In order to be able to be able to write type handlers for such types, it would be greatly useful that Gnus provides a non-interactive like this: (gnus-give-message-part content-id). -- Jean-Yves
