Hm. gnus-summary-line-format's value is "%U%R%z%([%5L: %-20,20f]%) [%~(cut-left 4)~(max-right 2)o-%~(cut-left 6)~(max-right 2)o-%~(cut-left 2)~(max-right 2)o %~(cut-left 9)~(max-right 2)o:%~(cut-left 11)~(max-right 2)o:%~(cut-left 13)~(max-right 2)o] %s\n" All the cutting, etc., is to get a date format that I like. bw -- Bill White . billw@wolfram.com . http://members.wri.com/billw ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread

There was no Lines header, which explains why Gnus reported zero lines. The Date thing is weirder, though. That it's upper case shouldn't matter. And (gnus-date-iso8601 "Thu, 29 Jul 1999 13:22:04 GMT") => "19990729T152204" Hm. Perhaps the upper-caseness is what makes it freak out, but the parsing functions seem to have `case-fold-search' bound. You really want to pull your lines value from overview rather than from the Lines header if available. The Lines header is discouraged, and may even be deprecated, in USEFOR, due to the fact that it's unreliable in practice (leading to errors just like the above). Oh, er, sorry; I missed that. :-) In that case, it's probably the nntp server's fault -- buggy NOV lines or something. -- (domestic pets only, the antidote for overdose, milk.) larsi@gnus.org * Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 7+ messages in thread
