Thanks. Why doesn't (setq gnus-treat-display-xface t) work? The variable is supposed to control the display of X-Face headers, so if it is set to t, shouldn't gnus know enough to look for them in the head of the message? Should each treat variable be set up so that a value of t means 'head or 'body or ..., depending on the particular variable? -- John H.
