In Emacs 26.3, default value was "parens". However in Emacs 27.1,
"angles" is default value. So parens is not good manner?
INDEED, i would like to know your thought about message-from-style.
Currently, my value is "parens" by setq in ~/.gnus.
Sincerely, Gnus fan Byung-Hee

I've used angles for ages because it was standard. And now that's what
the docs also say:
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---
message-from-style is a variable defined in ‘message.el’.
Its value is ‘angles’
This variable is obsolete since 27.1;
Only the `angles' value is valid according to RFC2822
You can customize this variable.
This variable was introduced, or its default value was changed, in
version 27.1 of Emacs.
Documentation:
Specifies how "From" headers look.
If nil, they contain just the return address like:
king@grassland.com
If ‘parens’, they look like:
king@grassland.com (Elvis Parsley)
If ‘angles’, they look like:
Elvis Parsley <king@grassland.com>
Otherwise, most addresses look like ‘angles’, but they look like
‘parens’ if ‘angles’ would need quoting and ‘parens’ would not.
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---
Bye,
Tassilo
