Please see the ticket for additional background on this and the
developer thread "Illumos/OmniOS as a guest on XCP-ng - panic /xpvd
nexus". While we haven't been able to square up why exactly we're
panicking yet based on variants of the qemu code that I've looked at,
this at least ameliorates the problem. To get to further root cause
we'll probably need to be able to use qemu's tracing framework to
understand how it sees the request.
