Hi.

In the summary buffer:
I mark a message as expirable with 'E', then get back
to the group buffer with 'q', and then when I get back into
the summary buffer the mark 'E' has disappeared.
Is that normal? If the mark is not there any more,
how do I know that an article is marked as expirable?

Excuse such a basic question, I couldn't find a solution
in gnus manual.
Thanks for any reply,
Rodolfo

No. Are you sure that you did not use 'Q' to get back to the group
buffer?

Yes, I'm sure, I used 'q'.
For some strange reason, 'q' has the same effect as 'Q',
only with 'q' gnus does not prompt the user (me) before exiting
the summety buffer, whereas with 'Q' it does.

Any idea? Is that a bug?
I have Gnus v5.11, included in Emacs CVS
21.3.50.1 of 2005-03-13.

Now I installed emacs CVS 22.0.50.1, and the bug
(if a bug it was) seems to be worked out:
in the summary buffer I mark a message with 'E', then get back
to the group buffer with 'q', then get back again into the
summary buffer and the 'E' mark is still there, on the message.
But:
if I quit gnus, and then start gnus again, the 'E' is not there
any more!
Is that normal? It seems strange to me: a message marked as
expirable should remain so until it is deleted or until I change
my mind and want to restore it again.

Any idea?
Thanks,
Rodolfo

The problem seems to be fixed now.
I rewrote my ~/.gnus.el with all its settings,
but maybe the main cause of the problem was that I
hadn't hit 'u' on the group the message belonged to
(I ignored I had to).
