Is there a way to access emacs menu from putty?

Alt-F etc didn't quite work...i was wondering if anyone knew how to
access these:

File Edit Options Buffers Tools Java Help

You can use F10:

 <f10> runs the command tmm-menubar

And since this non-clickable menu is quite useless IMO, you might
disable it with (menu-bar-mode -1) in your .emacs file.
