Didn't Gnus send anything over to the IMAP server before the IMAP server
returned that error message?

What are the lines before the BAD?  Include the BAD line, too.

Now I have a weird issue:

I can't add IMAP servers to my Gnus config. When I do, I get this error
when trying to connect to the servers:

> BAD Missing '"'

However, there is no missing '"'.

My userdata (with placeholders):
