Use formail and safecat (see example at
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze1ypud/linux/software/safecat/one-liners.html)
to put all your mail in a Maildir. Gnus can read from a Maildir (and
you can keep using it as your regular mail delivery place if you
want). Use procmail or a MTA that supports it if you want to keep
using a Maildir.
Alternatively, open the file, go to the middle, and find the beginning
of a message. Cut there into two files.
