Subject: problem with cvs - gnus
Date: 19 Oct 2002 21:15:25 +0300	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <80ptu6z45e.fsf@orion.ucnet.uoc.gr> (raw)

Hello,

I have the following problem with the newest cvs version of
emacs/gnus. When I try to run gnus I allways get this message "nntp
(news.grnet.gr) open error: ''.  Continue? (y or n)" ...and ofcourse I
can't read news (I can however read mail). Now, a build of the cvs
version of emacs a week ago would result in the same error "some
times". That is most of the times gnus worked fine. However GNU Emacs
21.2.1 with the included gnus (5.9.0) works fine (I'm posting now
through it ;-)).

I'm not sending my .gnus file, as gnus works fine on emacs-21.2.1.
I've read one similar old article ... in which Kai suggested that the
nntp server was down, ofcourse this is not the case here.

Any hint/pointer/suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Giannis

PS. forgot to mention my computer's arch:
GNU Emacs 21.3.50.3 (sparc-sun-solaris2.6, X toolkit) of 2002-10-19 on
orion

--
int main(void){int j=1234;/*(c)2002 jgeorgal */
char t[] ="<G> @abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.\n";
char*i ="qhui<xfi.df rwgzfizjz.f rwgqqwqtigiz";
while(*i)((j+=strchr(t,*i++)-(int)t),(j%=sizeof
t-1),(putchar(t[j])));return 0;}/* under GPL */
