Once more can I regale you with stories of lost tags and much gnashing of
teeth. This time, I had logged in with the use of PuTTY, being bereft of a
real operating system in my temporary location. In my main mail folder,
wherein resides about 15000 messages, over 700 of which were tagged,
appeared today an Asian spam. I only saw its foul visage for a mere moment
before Gnus shifted to the next group. Upon return to the main group, I
found that all the tagged articles, going back several years, were now
untagged, simply through displaying the foul characters of the spam. I
shall forthwith set up SpamAssassin to avoid any future disasters like
this, and furthermore always run emacs within screen(1), which seems to
filter most of the vile evil of symbols.

Grumpf.

-Lars
