Websites listing news servers are problematical for
sorting out current news servers that are free!

The name `gnus-maximum-newsgroup' is confusing; it sounds like it is the
maximum newsgroups one can have. How about:
`gnus-newsgroup-maximum-articles'

I came up with this name from `gnus-large-newsgroup' but I also
didn't think it's good.

Should this variables be defined in gnus-sum.el instead of gnus.el? I
just found that all variables starting with gnus-newsgroup- are in
gnus.sum.el.
