This directory seems odd. Normally, *.el and *.elc files are in a
"lisp" directory. In my case, /usr/share/xemacs21/packages/lisp/w3
contains the ssl.el* files.
Please make sure that load-path mentions the directory with the
files, not the parent or another ancestor of that directory.
