Message-ID: <87a9ld6xgq.fsf@rasmusvillemoes.dk> (raw)
I have moved all of my old mail to an IMAP server (gmail in
my case). Things seem to work fine, except for one annoying detail:
I'm used to using lots of folders (labels in gmail speak), [I have
for example a sent-mail-yyyy-mm folder for every month going back more
than 10 years]. Every time I start Gnus, I see
...
nnimap: Mailbox sent-mail-2004-01 modified
nnimap: Mailbox sent-mail-2004-02 modified
nnimap: Mailbox sent-mail-2004-03 modified
nnimap: Mailbox sent-mail-2004-04 modified
...
nnimap: Mailbox Linux modified
...
one message for every single label on gmail, even though most of these
are clearly _not_ modified (whatever baseline Gnus uses). This means
that it takes several minutes to start Gnus. Is there anything I can do
about this?
Rasmus
