Message-ID: <87fwtbepw5.fsf@towardsfreedom.com> (raw)
i've been trying to get mairix working today and it does (works great
from shell (superfast on 2G) - but i can't see the results with nnmairix.
there is ~/Mail and ~/Mail/inbox (cur/ tmp/ new/ and dovecot indicies)
in .gnus:
(require 'nnmairix)
in .mairixrc:
base=~/Mail
database=~/.mairixdb
mfolder=default
maildir=inbox
mformat=maildir
omit=zz_mairix-*
then setting up the group with G b c
name of mairix server: test
back end server: nnimap:Mail
command: mairix
default search group: def
work with maildir++: yes and no -- doesn't seem to make much difference
this produces a group:
nnmairix+test:def
what happens is that i do a search with G b s and it finds the 60 items it
is supposed to (verified by doing this on the shell).
the links go into
~/Mail/zz_mairix-def-*/cur/ (maildir++ is no)
~/Mail/.zz_mairix-def-*/cur/ (maildir++ is yes)
and always there is created ~/Mail/inbox/.zz_mairix-def-*/ with
cur/
new/
tmp/
dovecot.index.log
dovecot-uidlist
maildirfolder
however, i can't go into the group
nnmairix+test:def
nor does it come up automatically as indicated in the manual:
"Prompts for query which is then sent to the mairix binary. Search
results are put into the default search group which is automatically
displayed"
so it seems i'm missing a piece somewhere since mairix is doing its job
both out of gnus and in it. what can be done?
(btw, i also tried nnir with imap, but couldn't get the group to open -
but that's another story)
