Did you subscribe to the google mail folders in the server list?
If not: In the group buffer hiet ^ and select (top of my head, the [tab]
doest the trick, the gmail line, and find your inbox and other folders
there. Subscribe (u/U) them and quit the server thing, find the boxes in
your group buffer.
