I wasn't aware of "nntp-address", although I've been using "nnimap-address" in a similar context. My goal is to retain the name "gmane" for historical consistency, regardless of the actual address used. Your suggestion aligns with that. I've since updated my configuration to: (nntp "gmane" (nntp-address "news.gmane.io")) Additionally, I've made updates to the ~/.newsrc.eld file, replacing "news.gwene.org" with "gmane". Everything seems to be running smoothly so far, and I've made sure to keep a backup, just in case.
