I have noticed this as well and I felt the same way as
you. But I could never figure out what caused it. So
I'm happy you asked this question. In general tho, it
isn't a bad way to do such things in hooks. But I agree
doing it once and for all is more appealing and it will
be interesting to learn what we are doing wrong.
