You really should start to look in the manual :-) Case in (at?) point: * http://gnus.org/manual/gnus_91.html#SEC91 (I think showing the oldest first - so you naturally read the articles/emails in the order they were written is more logical (especially when articles/emails you have read aren't shown), but of course your milage may vary).
