Dear all,

I really love gnus. Thus, as I'm changing jobs, I transferred .emacs, .newsrc
and .newsrc.eld to my new computer. Unfortunately a different distro,
("scientific linux"), but still. It works. Nearly.

M-x gnus displays my groups, but as soon as I press enter inside any group
buffer - no matter whether it's mail or news - to view an article, I get an
error. At least, without X. Below is the backtrace.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Martin

Oh, it seems that I cannot even post articles?

Hmm, it seems that my message got garbled, so I try again:

I had to move office, but wanted to take my gus with me. So I copied .emacs,
.newsrc, .newsrc.eld to the new location, installed the missing packages (like
bbdb and tramp), and it worked - nearly.

The only problem I have is that viewing an article returns in an error
message. Below is the backtrace... (I replaced stuff within bytecode by ...,
since I suspect that this garbled my first post...)

Thanks a million times,

Martin

OK, I got it. I had to customize smiley-data-directory (I set it to nil). No
idea why that works.
