As far as I know, I've never used the Agent.   Yet there's a directory
hierarchy here:

          ~/News/agent/nntp/netnews.attbi.com/agent.lib/active
                                                       /history
                                              comp/...
                                              gnu/...
                                              rec/...

etc.
