This is bogus, STATUS is allowed in the selected state, see §6.4 of
RFC 2060.

Did it just hangup here?  Did it answer all those STATUS commands?

Which server is this?  Look at the first line in *imap-log* after
opening the server.  If you don't mind, I'd like to include it on my
list of buggy servers.
