Hello,

I am using gnus v5.9.0 in GNU-Emacs 21.3.1 as an e-mail client.
If I send an e-mail, the headers became broken, so that a part of them
ends up in the body of the mail, including the subject for example.

As far as I can see, the problem is within gnus, but I have no clue
where and what I can do against it.

I am very happy and thankful about all hints and comments.

Best regards

Maybe there is a newline inserted within the headers. Are you sure
that Gnus does it wrong and not the MTA or other software? Or maybe a
misconfiguration, e.g. `message-send-hook' and
`message-send-mail-hook' (I vaguely remember that someone inserted an
X-Face with a superfluous newline).

Anyhow, I'd recommend to upgrade to Gnus 5.10.6.

BTW, if you're using a stock Emacs 21.3 from gnu.org [1], you should
probably also upgrade to 21.4 which fixes a security problem with the
movemail program.

Bye, Reiner.

[1] GNU/Linux distributions might have provided an update already
without increasing the version number to 21.4.

Is it possible a \n\n has snuck its way into your headers somewhere?

Pip

Hello,

I'm pretty sure, that it isn't the fault of another program like the
MTA (because using pine and the same sendmail woks, althought this is
now real proof).

I could not find a clear error within gnus, like in the sugested
variables.

So I'll try to update to a new version.

Thank a lot for your help so far.
