Neither was my news server. I am forced to use PPPoE. My machine's ether devices default the MTU to 1500. I need to have the MTU set to 1492 (due to the extra protocol overhead of PPPoE) in order to have reliable networking. So now this leaves me with the seperate problem of figuring out how to change the default MTU settings for the PowerBook G4. Mac Help sucks for looking up such things. Time to ask this question elsewhere, unless someone who reads this group would know of such off topic information. -- One Emacs to rule them all.
