I have found that if you use C-x 2 to put a window below the *article* window, you can do your "other editing" there while browsing news. in the upper 2/3rds of the frame. I then save the window configuration by typing C-x r w a (put the window config in register 'a'). Then if I have to do a followup or something, the frame goes to one window, I finish the followup, and then hit C-x r j a to get back to my 3-window frame from before. -- Edward Dodge /Confabulation Consulting/
