The key that you have pressed is ‘#’ key. You can mark multiple articles
using ‘#’ key and then do some processing on all of them. For example,
expire them.

To get rid of the mark you can press either keys ‘M P u’ in sequence or
‘M-#’ i.e. meta+hash.
