Soon after I started working in Gnus, I fell in love with it (just as
it happenned with emacs)
Could anyone clarify these things (I am a new to newsreading)
1. My email address is wrongly set by default. How do I modify without
having to erase it write again?
2. How do I get a list of all the newsgroups that a server offers so
that I can subscribe at will? My institution does not set up
.newsrc by default.
3. What is this "expunge" ?
Thanks in advance
Forgive me if I ask too many questions.

Gnus uses it in two ways. One is the x key in the summary buffer. It
removes the lines corresponding to read articles from the summary
buffer. The word also occurs in the context of scoring, where it
means the same thing (except that it happens automatically, of
course).
The second has to do with IMAP. In IMAP, you mark a message for
deletion. It doesn't get deleted immediately, but only when you do
the expunge operation.
